A Pillow to Celebrate Father’s Day

A woman from Spokane, Washington named Sonora Smart Dudd is the person behind Father’s Day. Back in 1907 while listening to a Mother’s Day sermon, Sonora wanted to honor her father, Henry Jackson Smart, for his devotion to raise her up in the best way he could in spite of the early death of Sonora’s mother. Because her father’s birthday fell in the month of June, she thought it best to celebrate Father’s Day in the same month.

Let us honor our fathers this Sunday by thanking them for all their hard work, dedication, and devotion.
