Handcrafted Mahogany Cross from Bali

To date, only less than one percent of Bali’s citizens practice Christianity. Majority of the inhabitants are practicing Hindus. This wooden cross hails from a distant community in Bali that has embraced Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It is an extremely rare commodity that reminds every Christian to share the love of Christ to the ends of the earth.

The lovely wooden cross featured in the photo is constructed of a single and solid piece of mahogany wood. It is carefully and lovingly carved by an extraordinarily-gifted Balinese artist by the name of Nyoman Subrata. The hibiscus blossom details of the design are inspired by the natural beauty of Bali’s tropical flora. The dimensions of the hand-carved mahogany cross are 10 inches in height and 7 inches in width. It weighs only one pound.

Crosses make great Christian gifts. The fact that this wooden cross is very rare and has a rich history to it makes it an even more desirable Christian gift option for someone special. This work of art will look great hung on the wall as home décor and will make a great conversation over coffee or tea.
